The Paua Room

The Paua Room

In Helensville, Commercial Road. Formerly a boutique for many years, now a pop-up boutique as the owner, Linsey, has moved to Rotorua. I've sallied forth to two pop-up days, so far. And found to my delight, that we shoppers were being spoilt for choice. A lot of designer gear. And quite a few pre-loved. Jewellery, shoes, hats, bits and pieces.

My first haul (why is it called a haul?):

Cardi that was made in Denmark. New, price slashed to $30. Previously expensive. I've been wearing it a lot. So annoying that you can't see the embroidery-type front panels.

Pre-loved tee, top, whatever. It is so flattering on. The cloth feels so beautiful. Quite different feel from cheaper tees. Lovely embroidery-type edging.

Flip flops, scuffs, whatever they're called now, new, leather. Chic as. I grabbed these asap, too. The price was $10. Unbelievable.

This bag was only $20!!! It is beyond gorgeous. I pounced on it straight away. New. I love it. And being quality and well made, it will last years.

Pre-loved off white cotton/musliny summer top. It really does look nice on. Women my age just love the muslin fabric look. Reminds us of our youth. That is a shadow on the front, not a stain. Still haven't figured out how to decently photograph clothing, lighting, etc.

Both pre-loved off-white tops were $20 each. And in excellent condition.

I learnt that one had to be really quick. A tall lady managed to get the fabulous red sunhat that was up too high for little me to reach. I should have grabbed Linsey and gotten her to put it aside for me. And I wished that I'd gotten some earrings, too.

Everyone whom I saw buying gear there, had bags of fabulous clothing and stuff.

I shall be back yet again!!

Why, oh why, did I get travel directions from google?

Hilariously, on that first day, dear old google sent me into a very long, winding drive through the countryside, like a guided tour of the whole of the North Island  (that's what it felt like!), instead of me using my brains and just sallying forth quickly up the motorway. I was a bit shattered when I arrived at Linsey's shop.....
